Connect Robert to an MCP client

Set up Robert in Claude, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, or another compatible MCP client.

Connect one MCP client first. Robert will ask you to authenticate before the client can access your workspace.

Set up your client

Choose the client you use. Copy its setup value, then authenticate when the client asks.

In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, click +, choose Add custom connector, paste this URL, and click Add.

Open Claude connectors

Enable Developer Mode, then go to Settings > Apps and create a custom app with this URL. ChatGPT scans its tools and opens OAuth when required.

Open ChatGPT Apps setup

Run this in your terminal, then use /mcp in Claude Code to authenticate.

Codex CLI: add the Robert server in your terminal.

Then start the OAuth sign-in flow for Robert.

ChatGPT desktop app: open Settings > MCP servers, add a Streamable HTTP server, paste this URL, save, restart, then authenticate.

Paste this into Settings → Tools & MCP → New MCP Server, then connect Robert.

MCP endpoint

Use this URL with another compatible MCP client.

How to

  1. Choose the client you use

Choose the client you use from the setup cards below. Each card has the exact command, configuration, or endpoint for that client.

  2. Copy the setup value

Copy the value from that card and paste it where the client asks you to add a remote MCP server.

  3. Authenticate with Robert

Complete sign-in when the client opens Robert. Workspace admins can change access later in Settings > Integrations > MCP.

Use one client first. Confirm one client can connect and find the project context you need before adding another.
